Sybil resistance

Welcome Eli aziz :wave:t4::wave:t4:
I don’t think they use KYC :thinking::thinking:
Because of Trust Level mechanism I believe there’s no problem anymore for cybil attacks :smirk::star_struck:
Dear @jooooo5as do you agree with this?

@saintmeys
you are totally wrong my friend.
It’s against decentralization.

I just know KYC isn’t good idea. I prefer twitter or gyro account. :sunglasses:

Although Sybil attack is a serious concern for projects, I don’t agree with traditional KYC since in my point of view it is against decentralization! There are much better ways to avoid that problem specially investigation of member activity in different phases of project.

In my opinion, phone number and link address to social media options are the best options. Idena and Brightid also look good.

i opine that reveal and claim privacy information such as passport number is not a good way and there should be a better way to solve the mentioned problem

I surely agree that Sybil attackers MUST be stopped; But I think the most important thing is the process we use to recognize them.
let me drop an example; all of us know transferring funds off the CEXs need an extra fee (besides network fee) which is for the CEXs theirselves.
Now if someone wanna pay less fee the only method (except waiting for gas fee lowering) is not to pay CEXs fee… so what he/she do?
an example…He/She may transfer fund from CEX to a particular MOTHER account (on his/her personal wallet) and THEN transfer from that one wallet/account to the other wallets/accounts
in this case someone wanted to pay less fee and save money BUT may be recognized as Sybil attacker or airdrop hunter…
This is what we should think about
I myself am working on some ideas to prevent these mistakes and remove real attackers and hunters but really want everyone focuses on it too.

i think that KYC can not be a profitable idea to resist against sybil protection. and certainly there are some new way to avoid several addresses.
